Beginner Spanish Stories - Featuring Home, Family, and School Vocabulary

Meet Maggie and Nando! These two characters, created by the author of El Puente Bilingüe materials, introduce themselves through 2 short stories. They describe their families, their homes, and their schools, en español, ¡claro!

IN ONE VERSION, Learners are asked to either illustrate the stories or write notes (teachers, you can decide which skills to focus on here!) as they read these two short stories. This version is recommended for students who may benefit from more of a challenge, as they must rely upon prior knowledge and the context clues are limited to text only.

IN A SECOND VERSION, the stories are already illustrated. This version is best for students who are better served with the added aid of illustrations as part of their context clues.

At the end of each story there are comprehension questions for learners to further demonstrate their understanding.

An answer key and an ACTFL rubric are included. Available as PDFs, you may print as many copies as needed for your own students.

These stories work well along with either the mainstream or the Montessori curriculum created by El Puente Bilingüe.
