Los Números 21-30: Montessori-Inspired Video Lesson and Printable Materials
Los Números 21-30: Montessori-Inspired Video Lesson and Printable Materials
This lesson on NUMBERS 21-30 uses a Montessori lesson approach, and is best done in small groups of 4-6 students.
This lesson helps learners not only to acquire new vocabulary, but to analyze the language as they identify patterns that exist in the names of the numbers. Language analysis and utilizing knowledge of patterns are skills that will help your students as LIFELONG language learners!
Note: The numbers series of lessons (all coming July and August 2024) include 5 separate lessons which support learners in discovering patterns that facilitate independent learning of numbers 0-100.
Another Note: The video preview depicts just a few snippets of what is on the actual video, and most sound has been removed to protect rights to material. The video preview depicts just a few snippets of what is on the actual video, and most sound has been removed to protect rights to material.
Like all El Puente Bilingüe lessons, this lesson presents plenty of ideas for practice as well as expansion. This product includes a video, printable learning cards, guidelines for printing, and a copy of the original lesson plan.
HOW EACH LESSON WORKS:
You are encouraged to pause the video throughout, as guided and as needed. You will see that the first part of the video is directed at you, letting you know how to prepare.
The actual mini-lesson is organized in parts:
- Intro discussion
- Presentation of content
- Practice options
- Mastery track
- Reflection
The lesson practice times and reflection can be spread out over several sessions, as needed. I recommend spending multiple lesson slots on each topic, so that learners have ample time to do their practice work and their Mastery Track activities. Perhaps one lesson a week is a good rule of thumb, and certainly no more than two.
A little bit about the scaffolding of these lessons:
The Numbers 21-30 lesson should follow the numbers lessons (starting from 0) from this store, not only because of numerical order but also because the lessons discuss how to identify patterns in language and they build upon one another.
It should come before the other vocabulary and parts of speech lessons. The Greetings and Farewells lesson is the FIRST lesson in this scaffolded series, followed by numbers and colors (though colors can be taught anytime before the parts of speech lessons).
ABOUT MY WORK
El Puente Bilingüe Montessori-inspired video lessons for beginner Spanish are lessons from my two elementary school Montessori-inspired sets, "Laying the Groundwork" and "Who We Are and What We Do".
Previously, these have only been available as hard copies on my website, with a lesson book and with boxes that house the cards.
BUT NOW...
The lessons and materials are now more accessible than ever!
In this unique approach, I take on the role of a Spanish teacher or guide in your elementary classroom or homeschool environment, you will need:
- A facilitator to sit with a small group of students and run the video (this could be you, or an aide or assistant guide)
- Flashcards and Matching Cards (print the ones included with each lesson, or create your own)
I have done all the legwork, planning, scaffolding, and sequencing, as a licensed Spanish teacher with Montessori experience and an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. As educators, you know your students best, and I am confident that the differentiation pieces suggested in the lesson will help you support your learners in the way they need to be supported.
This is one of over 50 lessons, which will all be available in the Montessori category of this store.
